Thank you’s really are the sweetest thing, they don’t need to be big or often said at all. I have been lucky to receive two thank you gifts this week and it’s only Tuesday! *blushes*
When it’s a friend you have helped or supported, you know they are grateful. The look on their face or tone in their message lets you know that they have been thankful of your support. After all I was just being a friend. I want to help you, I enjoy it, I also know how hard you are working to make this a success. I salute you.
My first thank you received yesterday …
Friendship through blogging, who’d have thought
I arrived home today from a long day in the office to a box, a rectangular shaped box from a shop I didn’t recognise. An unexpected parcel addressed to me. I rarely receive parcels. Especially two in two days. I looked at Mr H, ‘what’s this dear … tis for you’ he told me.
My first Flower Card
It really wasn’t necessary. To know you were safe was all the thanks I needed. I did what any other person would have done given the circumstances.
It was 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon, I was driving home from Lil G’s birthday party, a car packed to the rafters of gifts for the birthday boy. Singing along to Radio2 when the car in front hit the central reservation.
The car swerved and come to a stop in front of me. Out stumbled an elderly lady who looked shocked and upset, looking straight at me, rather upset and looking frail. I pulled in front of her, took her to the side of the road, sat her down and rang her daughter. She started to get upset so I gave her a cuddle. I offered her some birthday cake for the shock. I explained what had happened as she was very confused. We waited 15 minutes for her daughter to arrive.
As I was comforting the lady (a 75-year-old lady), I noticed another car had stopped. He was pushing the little dears car to the side of the road so that the traffic behind us could pass safely. He also needs a thank you *bows*.
The moral of the story, always stop, I lost 15 minutes of my day, that is all. The lady who I helped needed someone, if it was your mum, or your grandma I am sure you would want someone to stop and help. Bless her, she has rang me twice since and sent this beautiful Flower Thank You Card.

What a weird thing to happen right in front of you! I have to say I think it would take a pretty rubbish kind of person to see someone in this state of confusion and distress and just drive away! (Not to say that what you did wasn’t very lovely!). You’re right, all it takes is a little moment out of your life to make someone else feel a bit better, calmer and more together. And it was lovely of her to thank you like this too! X #sharewithme

What a beautiful thing. These days some people would’ve just walked right passed her and not give her the light of day. I am so glad there are still good people in this world and that she got the help she needed. It was also very sweet of her to send you those gifts as a thank you. x

aww that is so lovely. there are plenty of people out there who would have just driven off. Brownie points for you. Good thinking with the cake too-not sure I would have thought of that 🙂

Thank you, I think you’re right, they were a lot of people which drove past just staring and looking frustrated at the traffic the accident had caused. I just thought shock = sugar and that meant birthday cake!

Aww thank you. You’re right Suzanne, even at 4.30 on a Saturday afternoon people still drove past. Hubby is glad I did but he always worries that I may stop for the wrong person one of these days but as I was alone in the car and it was a little old lady, I couldn’t leave her x

Thank you is such a simple, easy phrase but so often forgotten by so many (which bugs the s**t out of me) I’m a stickler for manners you see! I digress……you didn’t have to do what you did, even if it was second nature to you, you didn’t do it for the recognition, but you most def deserve a MASSIVE thank you (or a tap on the back, virtually from me) As that’s an amazing act of Kindness KA. Good karma 🙂 I hope the lady was ok in the end, & I’m sure your comfort helped her no end xx

Thank you. So many people have said the same, as we were standing waiting for Ruth’s daughter to arrive you could see people tutting and getting frustrated in their cars as their journeys were being affected. x
