The Q&A Meme

The lovely Sian over at her rather festive blog Potty Mouthed Mummy has tagged me in The Q&A Meme. Well lovelies, here are my answers…

Where in the world would you most like to be now?

There is only one place to be at Christmas time and that is NYC baby. I LOVE this City. I love the architecture, the atmosphere, the people, the food, the shops, the decoration. Mr H and I have been lucky to visit twice, once in 2006 and again in 2008 where Mr H proposed to me. We cannot wait to take Lil G. If we were able to, I would up sticks and move! Just think of those lazy days in Central Park. If you are thinking about visiting the Big Apple then feel free to take a look at my pictures here (2006) and here (2008 part 1, 2, 34 and 5)

What do you most love about having your blog?

Firstly it is my little space. It’s my escape. My little hobby. So much has changed since Lil G arrived that this little blog allows me to have a bit of me back. In addition to that it is the lovely warm feeling I get inside when another blogger or non blogger has read and commented on what I have written. Either because they liked it, because it resonated with them or helped them in some way. It is a lovely little space. It has also created a world of opportunity for me which I will be eternally grateful for.

Who is the person you most admire?

That would be Mr H. Firstly he lost his career a couple of years ago due to the recession and sadly he hasn’t been able to rebuild it. He is stumbling along in a job which he dislikes with no opportunity. He does this to support our family. He will not give in. He can work and he will until he can find a job he loves again. But for now it makes him very miserable. Which makes me sad but also so very proud. He does it for Our Little Family. Also, because he cooks all of our meals (I can cook but he is MUCH better), he does most of the cleaning, he copes with my addiction with this here blog and my even bigger obsession with social media. He has so much patience. We love you Mr H.

What keeps you awake at night?

Little and big things. What should I write next? Or I’ve thought of a post for my blog. There is something to be said for a night light and note pad beside your bed! I’ve remembered where I put that something which I lost. The big stuff which I won’t share. My day job, the trials and tribulations which come with it. Why Lil G keeps having tantrums. Is he ok? Does he feel loved? Is the little boy at nursery still picking on him? Am I a good mummy? My mummy wasn’t you see and I really do not want to be the parent to Lil G that she was to me.

What is your all time favourite breakfast?

It has to be Mr H’s American style pancakes with maple syrup and streaky bacon. We first had these in NYC at Pershing Square and they have been his signature breakfast ever since.

Which song makes you smile every time you hear it?

There are so many. Lets start with our wedding song; So High by John Legend, it’s about feeling like you are on cloud 9. Then there is Viva La Vida by Coldplay, I love the beat, I love Coldplay and it gets me dancing. Then there is Your Song by Elton John which Mr H used to sing to Lil G in those first few weeks when he would scream with the pain of Gastric Reflux before it was diagnosed. And I love Motown. Who doesn’t?

If you could go back and give one piece of advice to your fifteen year old self, what would it be?

When you took the plunge to leave home at 18, you should have never looked back. Never have felt guilty. Because at 34 you still have regrets. If only you hadn’t looked back there wouldn’t be any regrets.

Well, thank you for popping by and reading my thoughts. It is now my time to tag some lovely bloggers. Here is who I would like to nominate…

The beautiful Sam over at Up All Hours

The clothes obsessed Kiran over at Mummy Says (hooray she’s back)

And lastly…

Jo over at Not A Frumpy Mum who has just celebrated her birthday *Happy Birthday again*
