Christmas Countdown

It’s a lovely time of year for family traditions with one of my favourites being delivered by Lil G’s Elf ‘Buddy’ on Christmas Eve. That would be Our Christmas Eve Box – a little magic the night before Christmas. It is filled with a number of treats set to keep the excitement of Christmas going for just one more night.

The idea of the Christmas Eve box is simple. Wrap a large box and fill it with some treats. They can cost as much or as little as you wish. This year we have included; pyjamas, a mug, hot chocolate and marshmallows, two short movies, a new teddy to sleep with, a letter from Santa Claus and finally a book to read at bedtime, ‘The Night Before Christmas’.

Lil G’s Elf ‘Buddy’ delivers this magic box to him at 5pm as he’s about to fly back to Lapland for another year. It is a beautiful way to say goodbye to Buddy and to settle down together as a family before bedtime. All cosy, snuggled under a blanket watching two of our favourite Christmas movies. A lovely way sure to send your little one-off to bed feeling all relaxed. Magic, excitement, tradition and memories, all in one.

I have teamed up with Cotton Traders for their Interactive Advent Calendar, and I have contributed this ‘Christmas Eve Box’ tip as it is one of my favourite things to do at Christmas time. It is such a beautiful way to get Lil G all excited for Christmas day and I wanted to share it with you as I truly believe it is a great tip for other parents too. Why not take a look at all the other great tips here.

Do you have any other tips on how to make Christmas magical? I would love to hear them.

  2. What a lovely idea! I mean to do this every year but something always gets in the way! This year I am determined! Thank you for sharing it with us at Wauwaa!

  4. I do love the idea of a Christmas Eve box, and a great idea for Buddy to deliver it before he heads back off to Lapland. I have no idea how you manage to get excited kids to sit still long enough to watch a film though! 🙂 We always read The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve too – it’s finishes the day off wonderfully. Thanks for linking up to #ChristmasCountdown
