On our recent holibobs to the gorgeous Bluestone Wales which you can read about here, we were delighted to test out the Short John Floatsuit from Splash About. It was the perfect place as they had a superb Waterpark , the Blue Lagoon. Lil G has been swimming with Water Babies from just a few months old and although he is now swimming independently we weren’t quite ready for him to be let free without some sort of aid in a Waterpark.
As he has never swam with a traditional swimming aid such as arm bands we were keen not to add these on our holibobs. We were worried they might counteract all his progress in terms of his positioning and restrict his movement. This suit is the perfect substitute. Lil G is used to Mr H supporting him whilst floating therefore this suit, with its innovative float technology allowed him the freedom to move combined with the confidence of floating without support. Watching him swim with the suit on made me realise how grown up my little boy is. He’s 4 in 13 days and oh my did he look like a big boy swimming away without our support.
The idea that you can remove the floats 1 by 1 as they become a more confident swimmer is an added bonus. The colours of the suit are so retro. The surf boards are so cute too. I do love the design. Initially I was a little worried Lil G would be cold as he is used to wearing a suit with arms however that wasn’t the case. He was very excited to wear the suit and actually his confidence rose in the 5 days in which he swam with it on.
