No matter how enjoyable busy weekends are I always find myself craving after a weekend or at least a day where time stands still. Where life as our little family is the focus of all my attention. No interruptions, no knock at the door with unexpected guests (dare I say unwanted) looking for a cup of tea and to disrupt the playroom. No birthday parties to attend, no deadlines to hit. Just us.
As the sun shone so brightly and with the threat of the weather turning we took the opportunity to take ourselves on a little adventure. To Woore Fruit Farm in Cheshire. We had been recommended this little farm by one of Lil G’s nursery teachers as there are fruit trees at a height more suitable for little people. How cute is that? Lil G had been excited all day and secretly we were too. For Mr H and I this was our first time picking strawberries. Can you believe that? And so we had a little adventure as Our Little Family.
If you go down to the woods today you’ll be in for a great surprise.
Since becoming parents Mr H and I have had a little bucket list. A list of places we want to visit with Lil G, memories we want to create, opportunities we want to give him and parts of our childhood we want to relive through his beautiful eyes. Despite camping for years as a young girl I can never remember toasting marshmallows over an open fire. How fabulous that would have been. We popped it on the list! Continue reading
This week Lil G and I have been on our holibobs. We enjoyed egg-stra days together as a family at Easter which were just wonderful. For four days we literally didn’t leave each others side. We closed the door on visitors and well, just enjoyed time together, to re-group. To relax. To love.
We have been blessed by the weather, which has allowed for some pretty special time together. We’ve spent long, lazy days wandering around in the sun. We’ve eaten ice cream. I do love my Mummy and George days.
Yesterday we took advantage of the beautiful weather we have been blessed with this Easter and headed to Stockley Farm Park, Arley near Northwich, Cheshire. Our friend and her two children joined us which made for a pretty fun afternoon.
At Stockley Farm Park your day will start with a tractor ride from the car park to the entrance of the farm. Perfect for children of all ages who love a little adventure. Sitting on hay bales, bumping along a dirt track passed fields of cows and sheep, fun fun fun. You can hear the excitement building as the journey comes to an end.
This was taken yesterday. We ventured out to a park which we wouldn’t normally visit as Lil G often goes with his Kindergarten group. However on his request we took teddy Roo on an adventure to see the water fountains. Lil G absolutely loves them. Completely mesmorised by how the spray from the fountains changes direction. He couldn’t quite understand why. I had to explain this is because of the wind. His response … that’s a super fact mummy, I’m going to tell Dan (one of his Kindy teachers).
Such a peaceful view minutes listening to the spray falling on to the lake. I love how the blue sky is trying it’s best to break through the cloud. Thankfully it did.
For this post I am linking up to the lovely Darren from One Dad 3 Girls for #MySundayPhoto and Emma’s #CheckOutThatView. You can check out the linkups here…
With half-term fast approaching here in Staffordshire & Cheshire I thought I would put together a list of our favourite days out as a family. From free visits to the Museum to fun at Splash Landings there is something for every budget.
However you plan to spend your Spring half-term, whatever the weather, you can find some exciting half-term fun to be had.
Here are our Top Ten tried & tested days out with one indoors activity thrown in, just in case the weather takes a turn for the worst…
Today was one of those, let’s soak up the good weather and have a quality family day together kind of day. When you wake to a blue sky, as we have for the last two days, it’s pretty fabulous. Don’t you think? It was a happy Sunday. A happy weekend. A sunny, blue skies kind of Sunday. As Lil G pretty much spent yesterday with me, we were both looking forward to seeing Mr H. What better way to spend a Sunday than at one of Lil G’s favourite hangouts. Wheelock Farm in Sandbach, Cheshire. If you are local and haven’t been, you must! A day of fun for just £3.50. And who better to share it with than his best buddy, Freddy.
The change in weather these past two days has left me dreaming of summer. Dreaming of long lazy days. Relaxing. Packing a picnic. Mint choc chip ice creams. The smell of sunscreen. The glisten of sun bouncing off the water. Deck chairs. Sandals. Painted toe nails and of course the need for sunglasses.
I will admit to loving all seasons. I wouldn’t say that I love the Winter as much as Spring and Summer but it’s pretty close. I love seeing my wardrobe change for each season. However you simply cannot question how a blue sky and glorious sunshine lifts your mood. It really is a mood changer. It’s rather magical don’t you think? Continue reading
Yesterday we waved goodbye to Mr H who was off to Manchester to celebrate his birthday with the boys. Which meant that Lil G and I had a day and a night of adventure ahead of us. Just the two of us. Mummy daycare. I absolutely love my mummy days with my gorgeous boy and what better way to spend my precious weekend than making memories with him. Continue reading
