As someone who loves to shop, seek out something a little different and try something new, I thought I would share with you my favourite winter picks for a toddler boys wardrobe AKA Lil G.
I just love winter knits, Grandad collars, jumpers with elbow patches or applique and a cute hat and scarf!
At this time of year it’s easy to fill a little boys wardrobe with a blue, a grey and in general dark tones. Don’t get me wrong Lil G has blue and grey in his wardrobe but what I love to do is to pair these plain colours with a brighter print. Or as the professionals say; A Pop of Colour!
As Lil G is blessed with pale skin, these colours alone really do nothing for him. He has my colouring. I prefer to say we resemble what is known as an English Rose complexion however most would say we’re just pale. Colour suits him.
My advice to you at this time of year is to be brave. Don’t be afraid to inject some colour into their outfits. Whether it be a coat, a jumper or a pair of shoes. Warm those outfits up with some of my top picks for a winter wardrobe on a toddler boy…
1. Zara Jacquard Pattern Cardigan £15.99 – 2. Zara Sweater with Shoulder Applique £14.99 – 3. Zara Bear Motif Knit Hat £7.99 – 4. Clarks Holbay Hi Boots £38.00 – 5. Zara Boys Coat £35.00 – 6. Zara Bear Scarf £7.99 – 7. Gap Warmest Puffer Vest £24.95 – 8. Zara Check Shirt with Pocket Detail £11.99 – 9. Hunters Wellies in Blue £25.00 (sale)
I was hoping to pick my favourites from this list. I just can’t single any one out. To all those who say shopping for boys wasn’t fun and that there is limited choice … WHAT! Lil G said his favourite is…
Clearly from above you will see that we are partial to a visit to Zara! Tis our guilty pleasure. We do mix it up and more recently have found that Primark have the best fitting skinny cords for our Lil G. As a skinny minny the wider leg drown him so I was delighted when I came across them. At £5, I couldn’t resist buying a blue and a mustard!
We also love to buy from the Little Bird Range at Mothercare, Jasper Conran at Debenhams and H&M. If we’re lucky and see the stock as it arrives the TU range at Sainsburys is super too and reasonably priced.
Do you have a favourite store when buying for a little one?
I hope you enjoyed my little round-up of winter essentials. My turn next!
Isn’t he lovely! We love a spot of colour with Scandinavian prints.

Love your picks. Boys style is so much better than it used to be. While I’m totally for dark hues in Winter, a dash of bright colour looks amazing. My current favourite brights for boys are red and bright mustard. #streetstylesunday

We love red and mustard too. George loves his mustard gilet. I’ve never really brought for a boy before George arrived so to us this is how it is. I am glad it is. I love seeking out new brands

Great outfit choices. Boys’ clothing is so much more stylish now. I remember trying to buy clothes for nephews many years ago and the choices were dire.
