My Style of The Moment {Winter Woollies}

You can’t hide the fact that Winter has arrived. Wow. It has been a rather chilly willy this week as Lil G and his Nanny would say. I am sure I have read it somewhere that we are to expect a little bit of the sparkly white stuff this week and possibly a White Christmas! Now that wouldn’t be special? I think so. I shall make that my Christmas wish!

For me the drop in temperature can only mean one thing, layers, layers and more layers. Secondly, it means a new wardrobe. A new selection of winter woollens to keep me all cosy and snugly. Topshop have an excellent range this year. Some superb colours, including this long grey cardigan and a tartan mix. LOVE.

If any of you love a bit of Vintage then you should check out Spoiled Fox. Shelley has a stand every now and again in London with a constant presence in the Midlands. I adore this Aaron jumper. Normally I would pair an oversized jumper or cardigan with a pair of the skinnier the better jeans, however on this occasion it had to be the old faithful Topshop Mom Jeans for the Kindergarten run, comfort over style some mornings! I have also paired them with a skater style skirt.

Winter Essentials for a Toddler Boy

As someone who loves to shop, seek out something a little different and try something new, I thought I would share with you my favourite winter picks for a toddler boys wardrobe AKA Lil G.

I just love winter knits, Grandad collars, jumpers with elbow patches or applique and a cute hat and scarf!

At this time of year it’s easy to fill a little boys wardrobe with a blue, a grey and in general dark tones. Don’t get me wrong Lil G has blue and grey in his wardrobe but what I love to do is to pair these plain colours with a brighter print. Or as the professionals say; A Pop of Colour!

As Lil G is blessed with pale skin, these colours alone really do nothing for him. He has my colouring. I prefer to say we resemble what is known as an English Rose complexion however most would say we’re just pale. Colour suits him.

My advice to you at this time of year is to be brave. Don’t be afraid to inject some colour into their outfits. Whether it be a coat, a jumper or a pair of shoes. Warm those outfits up with some of my top picks for a winter wardrobe on a toddler boy…

My Style of the Moment {Brogues}

As someone who rarely wears heels, I make it my business to seek out shoes, whether that be flats, low heels, and of course boots at this time of year. I envy you heel wearing ladies… God dam you child-birth and giving me a back which feels like it’s breaking as soon as a heel comes anywhere near me.

Mr H is actually my personal shopper, or he likes to think he is (ssshhhh don’t tell him). Don’t get me wrong I love to shop too and I do but he can’t help himself! I have a husband who is very fashion conscious, some women wouldn’t like it. I love it. What’s not to love. He has style, he can spot an outfit. He knows my sizes and in the 9 and a bit years we have been together I have only returned one item. That’s not bad is it? Go Mr H!

My all time favourite shoes at the moment are Brogues. What’s not to love. Comfy, stylish, dressy or casual, great for all seasons and of course at this time of year they are shiny! Which would you wear?

My Style of the Moment {Mom Jeans}

This is my style of the moment, it’s comfortable, I feel good so to me that’s a winning combination right there. I have styled the high waist jeans with a camisole and a bright mustard boyfriend cardigan. I opted for the ever faithful Chelsea boot to keep it casual and feeling comfy. I also added a toddler for extra measure. My toddler might I add!

I love this outfit. To change it slightly I have worn it without the cardigan and added a leather jacket. I have also worn it with black patent brogues.
