Street Style Sunday {Leopard Print : 2 Ways}

Who doesn’t love a bit of leopard print?

You may recall me featuring this Topshop Pelmet Skirt a few weeks ago. Back then it was very much a Winter look with black tights and brogues. Sophisticated. Whereas this time I thought I would opt for the sexy look and pair it with a leather jacket, Chelsea Boots and skin colour tights (as I am not quite brave enough to let the tights go just yet).

And here is how it looked…

Street Style Sunday {Nursery Run}

As much as I like winter  for the layers and the copious amounts of hot chocolate, it feels so nice not to be wrapped up on the school run. Recently there has been no need for woolly hats and gloves. I may have even popped my big winter coats away until next time! Au revoir to them.

It is all about comfort on the nursery run for me. The two days I have the pleasure of walking my gorgeous boy to nursery are also my work from home days. If I am not running off to a meeting then this is the type of outfit that works for me…

Street Style Sunday {Spring}

As the sun shines and the skies fill with the colour of bright blue, I can’t help but delve into my spring/summer wardrobe. Other than a pair of shoes or two (I am obsessed), I haven’t yet picked up any new pieces for this season. I am desperate to and certainly will be doing so over the coming weeks.

I am a huge fan of all seasons. I love the deep colours that come with winter but if I am honest I do love seeing the brighter shades that undoubtedly appear this time of year. I’m a sucker for pastels. And let’s not forget all the beautiful shoes.

Spring officially sprung on Friday and so did the weather here in Staffordshire. Here is what I have been wearing this weekend…

Getting Ready For A Mummy Day

I thought I would share with you my Mummy Day style. For me there has to be minimal effort required. Perfect for those days when I am running around the park, crawling around the floor playing superheroes, or cuddling up on the sofa watching a movie.

Mothering Sunday was exactly that. A mother and son kind of day where Mr H sneaked off to the football.

Street Style Sunday

Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the whole day with my gorgeous boy. Date day. Just the two of us as Mr H was off celebrating a birthday with friends in Manchester. I absolutely love my days where it is just us.

We had a lovely day planned. A little trip out to paint some pottery followed by a play date. So, I thought I would share with you the kind of outfit I turn to when a day of fun is on the horizon with a 3-year-old. This is most definitely my #MumStyle …

Street Style Sunday

If you’ve followed ‘My Style of the Moment’ posts then you’ll know that I am partial to the Boyfriend Style. When I stumbled across this Jacket come Blazer in the sale last week I simply couldn’t leave it. The length is perfect. I love the cut too and the wider lapels make me very happy indeed. They are perfect for allowing you to pair it with a statement necklace. I actually picked it out as a transition piece to take me through to Spring however as it is lined with black velvet (an unexpected treat), it is actually really warm. With a winter scarf and a hat it really is rather cosy.

This is how I wore it for a day in Manchester with Mr H and friends. I shall call it my Day Date outfit…

Keeping it simple…

I wouldn’t say that I am the type of person to lean towards one style. I like to dip in and out of trends. It suits me to own a few classic pieces that are timeless. The days of a weekly trip to the shops have long gone therefore keeping a few bits aside which carry me through the seasons are a must.

I love a mixture of tailored lines, a dash of vintage, a pop of colour, a few quirky pieces and always a bit of 60’s fashion for the summer. If only I looked like twiggy!

So, I thought I would share with you my Keeping it simple look which never fails. The white shirt. Whether it be a structured shirt or something a little more feminine and floaty it is a must in my wardrobe …

Winter Essentials for a Toddler Boy

As someone who loves to shop, seek out something a little different and try something new, I thought I would share with you my favourite winter picks for a toddler boys wardrobe AKA Lil G.

I just love winter knits, Grandad collars, jumpers with elbow patches or applique and a cute hat and scarf!

At this time of year it’s easy to fill a little boys wardrobe with a blue, a grey and in general dark tones. Don’t get me wrong Lil G has blue and grey in his wardrobe but what I love to do is to pair these plain colours with a brighter print. Or as the professionals say; A Pop of Colour!

As Lil G is blessed with pale skin, these colours alone really do nothing for him. He has my colouring. I prefer to say we resemble what is known as an English Rose complexion however most would say we’re just pale. Colour suits him.

My advice to you at this time of year is to be brave. Don’t be afraid to inject some colour into their outfits. Whether it be a coat, a jumper or a pair of shoes. Warm those outfits up with some of my top picks for a winter wardrobe on a toddler boy…

My Style of the Moment {The Mini}

This week I thought I would share with you my little obsession with a mini skirt. Since arriving into my 30’s some 4 years ago and often not having sun-kissed legs to be proud of I tend to steer away from getting my bare legs out. Much to my husbands dismay.

This is what I love about winter. I can get my legs out albeit hidden by tights! All cosy and warm. Wearing layers is something I love about winter. Wearing a mini skirt is what I love about winter. Mr H is therefore a big fan of Winter.

I couldn’t help but feel as snug as a bug in a rug in this brushed plaid skirt. A gorgeous print. Who doesn’t love monochrome and tartan? A great combination. I picked this skirt up a couple of weeks ago from Primark after seeing it pop up on their Instagram feed. I’m glad I did as it seems to have sold out now. On this occasion I paired it with my 2nd obsession, my Brogues. I also added a black sweater and a pop of colour on my nails. You can’t beat a red varnish in winter. I also added a favourite, my Vivienne Westwood necklace.

I have been looking for a little black skirt for some time now however most I have seen have been rather flimsy and therefore I would be risking my own Marilyn Monroe moment! So when I came across this skater style mini skirt in Primark which was heavy-duty with a gorgeous finish I couldn’t help but relieve it from the rails.

I paired it with my faithful brogues, mainly because my legs looked slimmer than with my Chelsea Boots. I also popped up this gorgeous cashmere jumper from Topshop (2 years ago) and a French Connection Shirt with a beautiful lace finish around the neckline. I do love a collar. Lets not forget the red nails!

Until this year I have never shopped in Primark. You see, since commuting to Manchester the department store is so close to my office that I just cannot help myself. Often I do not find anything that catches my eye however more recently I have been somewhat surprised.

I’m a little bit in love with this look at the minute. I wonder how many skirts I could add to my collection? I think I’d quite like to find out!

What little obsession do you have at the minute?

Love The Little Things

What an improvement we have had this week. Lil G has returned to sleeping in his own bed and through the night. Phew. He has also stopped the tantrums. Fingers crossed our Elf ‘Buddy’ can keep the Threenager behaviour at bay.

These weeks are flying by at the minute, which on the one hand excites me so as it means Christmas is coming, however on the other hand it means I need to get my bum into gear as I need to find the perfect wrapping paper. Eek

Let’s get this #LittleLoves round up started… Continue reading
