A beautiful friendship

Just look at these two…

They have the most beautiful of friendships. Even from the first day they met, our furry baby has watched over our gorgeous boy. I watch them each morning stand in our bedroom window, looking out at the people walking by and well just being together. Lil G always offers Alfie a huge kiss and cuddle as we leave the house. It is so sweet. We always hoped that this would be the case, but never imagined how beautiful it would be to watch their relationship grow. Continue reading

Our first flight as Our Little Family…

These last few week’s have been filled with so much excitement, planning, more planning and a lot of list making! And why? Let me tell you. We have just returned from taking our gorgeous boy to Disneyland Paris for his 4th birthday. Not only that but also taking a ride on a rather large airplane for the first time since becoming Our Little Family. Eek.

Guess How Much We Love You…

Today, George Archie Hargreaves or Lil G as I refer to you as or Georgeous as Daddy calls you, you turn 4-years old. Wow. Really? You tell me that when you’re 4 it will mean that you are a big boy. That you’re as big as Hulk. That you are going to School. That you will be able to earn pocket money.  Continue reading

Always the bad guy…

Bad Mother

It’s official I’m a bad mum.

Lil G and Mr H picked me up from the train station yesterday evening, our usual routine. What was different was the response I received from Lil G. Nothing. Nothing but silence. He was refusing to speak to me. Covering his face with a birthday present he had just picked up from one of his little friends. But what had I done? Continue reading

And our thoughts turn to DisneyLand…

With only 3 more sleeps to go until we reveal to Lil G where we will be taking him for his birthday. I cannot help but feel excited and full of mixed emotions. Where did I put that time machine? Are we really approaching Lil G’s 4th Birthday? It seems so. Do you think he’d notice if I put it back a year or so? As I write this post it wasn’t long ago that our gorgeous boy returned home from a day of celebrations at Kindergarten. As he left me this morning it was with a heavy heart that I waved him off. He has had himself a little superhero birthday party as unbeknownst to him we will actually be eating breakfast with Mickey & friends on his birthday! Therefore no birthday party this year. Which he can’t quite understand! Hopefully he will once Thursday arrives.

Our Little Superhero {Living Arrows}

Welcome to this week’s Living Arrows.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. I love that sentence, and so true.

As week’s go, this is a BIG one for Our Little Family. Our gorgeous boy turns 4 years old on Friday and to celebrate we are surprising him with a trip to DisneyLand Paris. We fly Thursday morning. Eek. Having spent a day away from our Lil G on Saturday it seemed like he had grown so much over night. Maybe it is his new hair cut or quite simply that he is growing up. We are so proud of him. As today is the only day that he will be going to Kindergarten this week, they are throwing him a little birthday party. And in true Lil G style he requested that his friends dress up as Superheroes.

We had actually added a couple of new superhero suits (as he calls them) to his birthday box and as a little surprise yesterday we let him open one in preparation for his party. It had to be Thor.

As I waved goodbye to our little superhero this morning it was with a heavy heart. Sad that I can’t be there tonight to pick him up to see how his special day has been. Emotional that this week my boy takes that next step. Getting that little bit closer to becoming a school boy. Time really has flown. I’m excited by his little journey but this year it really does seem to be hitting me that little bit harder. So much will change when his educational journey begins in September. The routine we have known since he was 8-months old. So much change.

I know that I am bias, but oh my goodness he is one handsome little Thor. Have a beautiful day kid.

A hop, skip & a jump with More Vitamin Drinks

A couple of weeks ago the very generous team over at More Drinks supported Lil G’s last Sports Day at his Kindergarten with their range of ‘A Little More’ drinks. And after all that hop, skipping and jumping they were certainly in need of refreshments. A little hydration with a twist. A hint of flavour, each one resembling a different vitamin, they really are quite tasty. Rather clever if you ask me. If your little one is anything like our fussy soon to be 4-year-old, whose diet isn’t always the best then adding vitamins by means of a drink sounds perfect to me. A parenting win. Sometimes you need to get more of the good stuff inside your little ones and that’s where A Little More comes in…

With a little help from a friend {The Ordinary Moments}

A few week’s ago we found out that our gorgeous boy had been awarded a place in our first choice Primary School. We were delighted. A little emotional. Aware that our gorgeous boy is growing up … and fast. From the moment we found out it literally feels like our feet haven’t touched the ground. Whether it be physical or emotional, the preparations have begun for all of us.

Two week’s ago we had our first parent’s evening where we were guided through what life will be like for Lil G and for us as parents to a pre-schooler. Eek. My boy, not a toddler, but a pre-schooler. And then today arrived. Our first ‘Summer Fete’ at Lil G’s new School. As part of the settling in process they invite you along to enjoy the less formal setting of the everyday School. To wander around in a setting which would be more inviting, as well as to spend a lot of money on a tombola and cake sales and bouncy castles! All in the name of fundraising and settling in to new routines!

And with a little help from a friend Lil G survived his first visit to his Big Boy School…

Twit Twoo : Review : GetGo Ugo Owl Play Tent

A few week’s ago we were lucky enough to spend a few days in Pembrokeshire where the sun shone and the sky was free from clouds. Just before we packed up the car, and let’s not forget the kitchen sink as that’s the reality when travelling with a child, this gorgeous little tent arrived for Lil G to review. The new Űgo range which you can buy from Argos, is a playtime essential this summer holiday. Lil G really did have so much fun with it. I love how his imagination explodes when the right toys are presented. He actually wanted to sleep in it one night. Apparently the rabbits and squirrels needed somewhere to sleep! Oh to have the imagination of a child!
